As the basis of your orthotic, image is everything. The foot on the left is a laser scanner with a glass plate. The right foot is a laser scan from a Resa Gel Scanner. Your foot is not flat, your scan shouldn't be either...
Our unique gel allows an accurate scan of the foot. We obtain the scan in a partial weightbearing stance, allowing capture of the foot as it actually functions.
There are three unique arches in the foot. In order to properly capture the foot, these arches need to be preserved and captured as they are. This is why the gel is so important, it captures all the curves.
Traditional laser scanners utilize a glass plate. Scanning your foot through this, is like trying to get an accurate picture of someone whose face is pressed against a window.
As medical director for Resa, my duties often require some travel. I will be out of the office for an extended period starting the 28th of September..
The office will be open for scanning appointments only, the design and printing will be done by myself off site, and then mailed to you!
